After a few months of talking back and forth me and Derek struck a deal and im stoked to be the proud new owner of Binz 151.
My father picked it up for me and it is now at its new home in Tucson.
I am itching to get home from Afghanistan to get started on this hoopty and the 51 bug that has now taken a spot on the back burner due to the Binz haha
I would like to thank Derek for the chance to make this bus my own and bring it back to its original glory... with a few extras that is Wink

some of you may remember the pic from the AD

Mostly stock. Anything out of the norm will be a bolt on/bolt off.
Oh, and yes it is hidden indoors.
The bulkhead is there.... well its in the bed of the truck. No big deal.
I prematurely started this build thread... I was just excited like a kid on his birthday getting a shiny new bike or something haha
Anyway its here and Im hunting a few parts so this is my official want AD as well.
Anyone have a front seat??

I'm looking forward to seeing the rack. I'm in the process of making a full rack for my dc as well.

Glad to see it found a new home, especially in AZ where I might see it at a show again.

Did it come with a Vintage Collection Binz card? Smile

First off - Thanks your your service over there! Now be careful and come home safe and sound. You'll have plenty to play with once you're back.

Secondly - Congrats on the Binz purchase! We'll be following your progress on it.

I'll bet going from a torched and swiss cheesed 23 window to a nice solid Binz was the easiest choice you ever had to make. Does that deluxe ever call or write by any chance?

Havent heard a peep about the poor looking 23 window. I emailed him but I bet he is busy filling holes in that thing haahaha or scratching his head about what to do with it. I never ever thought I would end up just giving away a 23 window bus for FREE! karma came around and I got the Binz! SAWEET!. This truck is by far the most solid VW I have owned. Coming from FL where my westy was super rusty.

So im thinking Hurst bumpers front and rear... hmmmmm

Cool another Binz heading back to the highway.
Take lots of pics on your restore. I would like to see any and all. Great future reference on any sheet metal replacement. I have gathered a few photos of a very nice fully restored Binz If they may help you out. My bulkhead is in tack if you need any info.

Hahaha Im was active duty in the Navy but now I am just a "dirty contractor" We get shot at just the same and have to eat the same food and live in the same tents as the military we just have less rules. I work for the US Army and they are absolutely a dream to work for. Ive been here 13 months and its getting kinda like "groundhog day" I keep skipping R&R to make the green sooner so I can get the heck outta here sooner.

Im going to need lots o pics! And thanks for the offer BTW! I need to come up with a rear seat too. Maybe someone has the OG seat for this one stashed hahaha wishful thinking!!!
