Yeah Bill, I'm with you: stop making us all throw up in our mouths with those tail lights and scoops! I'll even take cut wheel wells over those tail lights! Damn! Otherwise, looks like you're doing good work. BTW. Like Bill, I'm wondering if you had a special split case trans put together make use of the minor power gains of that nice sewing machine? |
Those tail lights are all the rage in Jersey.

i love the jersey looker, if i it was half the price i would rock it |
I think I just threw up a little in my mouth...

Thats a sexy hot mess right there hahaha.
Im almost to that level of sharknado as he is.
I got my trucker mirrors installed today.
Also got the Okrasa running and its sooo sweet.
However, I got it running with just jumpers. Almost everything didnt work in this bus electrically. Here is why hahaha
Need to figure a few things out.
Short list left to get it on the road.
Adjust brakes, Bleed brakes, fill steering box and button up wiring.... cross fingers and take it around the block. _________________ 58 Binz DC #151 "Nacho"

As of today she is a runner.
Still have a list of things to finish and some questions to ask but here are some pictures for now.
Made a test drive about 1/4 mile... first experience with a split case tranny and rgb's. am i supposed to be able to just let out the clutch in first an chug along with out gas pedal?
Oh the ole taking it to the max wheels have arrived. Just need tires to finish the look.

i think you need at least 2 different kinds of wheels
oh, and yes, absolutely on the not stalling part when you let the clutch out in idle.
I used to pushstart my westy, alone! go a couple of steps, hop in 2nd gear, bam! _________________ regards

While I can appreciate the work so far, I do not approve of your license plate, where's the good one? |

Hahaha funny you should ask sir. Went to register the "BINZ" license plate and it looks like some one grabbed it up!! As far as I can tell there is only 2 other Binz in the state so it looks like I lost out to one of those fellas. Need to come up with something else.... Booooo thanks for that bad ass wall art license plate tho. _________________ 58 Binz DC #151 "Nacho"

Do any Binz owners have M-Code plates? I do not have one. Were they possibly removed at the Binz facility? _________________ 58 Binz DC #151 "Nacho"

in case you have not already got your birth certificate from Wolfsburg... that would be the first place to start. _________________ regards

Yes, that is the only way to get the exact date.
You can make a guess using the VIN charts on the site though. _________________ How to Post Photos

Found an old pic of this bus. Parked down the street from me in Southern California. This is the same condition Derek bought it.

I just wanna say - I'm a huge VW Truck nut -SC,DC Binz you name it!
VW trucks are the overlooked workhorse of the the VW family. I have owned 3 DC's and 3 SC's so far and lots of buses but the trucks stay near and dear to my heart. This Binz DC is a founding father in the truck revolution.
