The Viper made by B&N Fiberglass of Springfield Ohio was also cloned by other builders. The Viper did not have the raised area like yours does for the filler, (unless yours has been added by a PO). The biggest Viper (or clone) tip off is the sunken headlight pockets into the fenders. Only one other X-Body has had the unique feature besides the Viper.

Here is one of the last bodies that came from B&N. I will be finishing the build on it this winter.

Great information! THanks..
If someone did add the little detail around or under the filler they did a nice job of it. any other spots to look to give a positive identification?

My guess is that Fuel Fill detail is original to that body. Since it is a clone of the viper, the manufacture may be unknown.

BTW, I like that little detail for the fuel filler. Makes it unique.

I would like to know more about this one as well. I just purchased one that is exactly like this. I cannot seem to match this to any well known manufacturers.

^^^^^ I do not know what it is, but that is a very cool looking body design. I like the side pod accent too.

This is only the third body design I have seen with sunken headlights. A B&N Fiberglass Co. Viper and a X-Body are the other two designs with the sunken headlights.

I don't know who made the body but I had that same body. I drove that buggy from 1991 to 2012, until I got a Berry Mini-T. I picked it up at a wrecker in Everett WA, just north of Seattle. The slightly pointed hood detail, the sunken headlights with pocked at the bottom for the headlight stand, the front fenders running closer to the hood on the inside edge, the fiberglass dash shape, and the rear body design including being cut some because clearance with the engine is tight. The only difference is that mine had a slightly lowered (about 1/4 inch) trapezoid area in the center of the hood, my filler was where yours is and was just forward of centered in the slightly lower area.

Please let us know if you identify the manufacturer of the body!

I'm pretty sure this is a variation of a Kellison Sandpiper XP1 but there are differences. The windshield for 1 is from a Type III, but it looks like you are missing the frame. Have you had any luck with your build?

Looking for what body this buggy might be.

Specs:
Pre August 1969 build on '56 VW Pan
Thick flat fenders, no wiring tubes under, rounded rear end, molded battery box.
Hood does not necessarily fit body, large gaps between body and hood
Molded Dash and center rib on hood, so may be different manuf.

Picked this up today out of a local barn after a couple decade sleep. Body is pristine, rest is typical.

Any sense of the make?
