Hello, I am looking for a Westfalia from 1980 to 1990, I am from Mexico and need one wich VIN # starts with a number so I can import it, I´ve been looking and all of them starts with "W" (from Germany, I guess).. Is there a solution to my situation?, does all the Westys were manufacture in Germany??

That is correct all Vanagon Westfalias were manufactured in Germany.
I know exactly what you are talking about as I asked about importing an '89 Westy to Mexico and because the VIN starts with a letter not a number it can't be imported for use outside of the border region , you can only import it as "fronterizo" or for the border region.
You would have to find one already imported or "nacional" under old import laws and already in the country. |

I guess if you are bringing a Westy from Europe it's another story , but I tought we were talking about importing one from the USA. |
