thanks guys
i ordered up some heims and pulled my 3x3's down so just waitin for parts. then a trip too buy some more tubing.
then i found a bunch of tranny stuff up in the attic while i was searchin for my 3x3's
it was built by wright
it was a mid engine trans that was used in a pretty heavy car. i belive the engine was a turbo 2180.. and when i got it third gear was stripped.
i pulled the super diff and hardend shift fork out off it and ran it in my car

ive been working at adjusting out my bump steer.
and also thinking about my shock set up.
single 2.0 resie
or 2.0 coil with a secondary by pass or smoothie
im also thinking about relocating my bottom mounts on the arms so i can run a longer shock....

Looking great.
Do you think there is enough spring rate? I have been doing a little looking around (I am in the market for coilovers myself) and some guys run a bit heavier rate, but mostly race cars.

thanks !
i was having the same problem trying to figure out spring rates,
it seems like the the 200 is a little soft but since it is 10 inches while the 300 spring is 14 inches, it has a good amount of droop and when the main spring kicks in it seems plenty stiff, i piled almost 400 pounds right on the front end and tried to compress the coils by jumping up and down, but i never got the arms to be level.
i know with the bug fully loaded it will be a different.
but worse case senerio i will go to a 350 or 400 main but i really dont think i will need to change. im estimating the car will weigh 2300 to 2500 when finished. _________________ speed cost money.... how fast do you want to go?

I do see the 350lb spring quite often talked about for primary.
There was a guy selling springs CHEAP on race dezert dot com a while back, I did not buy any, not sure what I need yet.
And I am in a whole new ballpark with going "A" arm front. Whole new adventure now.
Keep us posted on progress.

3 TIMES??? They need a new sniffer...
No build thread yet, working on gathering parts and supplies before I start the thread. My goal is/was 2 years from this spring to be driving it. Could be close I think.

Sasquatch, that is to funny... I think you are to far South...
Judging from the photos, the up stop tube with mount is what 3" or so? and the mock bar going up to bumper is close to stop/angle of arm hitting it so close to a straight line?
I might think about putting another piece from the side down to the stop. 1, how long the tube is. 2 photos do no justice on distance, area or dimension.
I am not nit picking it apart just giving untrained advice.
Overall car looks really BAD A$$. Just keep the momentum going, even if it is slow. (Ya I have room to talk lol)

thanks guys!
i think sasquatch is a little far south! im right at home lol
alright as for the bump stop mounts
the whole lenght of the bump stop/mount is close to 5 1/2 inches
i am thinking i will run a tube from the side of the shock tower down to the mount as well as up to the bumper, triangulation is good!
a little bit of work a day will add up to something eventually, these last two days i made mounts for my fiberglass and got it finished up. ill post up some pics when i finish my bumper.
i want to finish my front end up by the 24th

Ha ha, yes and no...
I might have a buyer for my race car, still talking things out.
I spent $1500.00 on a lot buy of VW stuff I could not pass up, so THAT puts me that much $$$ behind on the build. But I should be money up if I sell for fair market value...
