Yep, money is the first. " HOW MUCH DID YOU SPEND ON THAT!!!" "Spend on what?"
Thanks for the links, I've followed your build on and off. Can't let my wife catch me drooling over that porn.
My build will be nice but no where as nice or correct as yours (Oh wait a 4 door DC? That ain't right). |

I love that someone else is taking a long time with their singelcab...
Mine has been about the same time...I keep thinking - this is the spring I finish it, so I can drive it this summer...
now we got a pandemic....so I got another excuse to put it off. _________________ -Kevin

So I went to visit the damn bit...I mean old gal today.
Went over her to see what metal work needs to be finished.
I have the parts. Inner lower nose (Schofield) and lower outer nose (KF).
Lower A pillars, left and right. (Schofield).
Dog leg right side. (KF)
Front and rear cross members (Schofield) and heater tube(Dont have yet)
.
Front floor. (KF)
Is that another single cab?
The cross members I forgot I already had.
Jerry got a dustless sandblaster and will be addressing the rust issues in the pics before any more welding. I'll be back to check out the work in two weeks. |

You might consider the heater tube solution that my builder came up with -- the double-sleeve insulated stove pipe. Worked a treat! _________________ John

I got the tubes from Wolfsburg West. They are very nice and stout (They only offer them for split busses but are really the same). I went to storage and pulled out the suspension bits to ready for the trip to Miami.
Then went down to Miami to see the progress.
The front cross member.
The rear cross member.
Got the last of the under coating off.
And a shot of color for the hell of it.
No picture to show, but the clutch cable tube was clogged with dirt and old grease that had turned to varnish. It took a hell of a lot of work to clear it. Now the clutch cable runs free. What a pain in the ass! That's it for now. |

Ahhh, the ANTICIPATION!
BTW, Baby Snakes, I'm going to see the new Zappa movie at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival tonight, at an old horse track converted into an outdoor movie theater. I'll be thinking you you and the truck! _________________ John

Very cool. I doubt it will be showing in my neck of the woods. Release date Nov. 27. I hope you had a chance to see Dweezil with Napolean a few years back. Great show. |

Like what you did with those torsion arms. I'm getting to that point on my bus and am was debating removing them but not sure what can of worms that opens. Is it as simple as unbolting? From what I can tell there may be a busing in there, are they available? |
