Here's what I have:

Steering wheel with the bits shown. Is that metal ring and related springs the horn? I know I need a horn button, but don't know if there's another part of the assembly that is for the horn. What year horn buttons will fit this early Super Beetle wheel?

Steering shaft. What's picture is what I have. I think there's some plastic PVC looking thing that also goes on, right?

Steering column, inside is the bearing (just one, right?) and I have the rubber bit that goes outside.
Everything else (link pin thing, steering box, etc) I know I have because they are what I took off the car. Everything above I bought so I'm not sure what is missing.
THanks!

If you are trying to create a complete steering column, you are missing few things. You need the ignition switch unless you moved it to the dash. You need the turn signaland wiper switch and the plastic cover for it. The VW steering wheels and steering sfats changed hub sizes and spline count a few different times. Make sure the wheel and teh shaft fit together properly. The outer column needs a bushing on the forward end to make it snug in the column receiver. I don't see teh bearing that goes under the wheel. I believe it rides on a plastic bushing on the shaft. It looks like you have that. I don't know if you can mix and match without some rework of several parts. Good Luck
