Had a great time at Wolfsgart, thanks to all.
Expected more, but cant be satisfied all the time.
The angels looking over Vanagons must have been looking favorably upon the Thingamajigger. Had an issue with slider door closiong yesterday. Cable was sticking, easy fix.
So back to the angels: Today the Thingamajigger ran great, got the family home safely. Went to fill up gas before parking (ready for next adventure) a mile away from house. Threw belt upon return trip and did not know.
Pulled into driveway and heard the 'gurgle'. Opened up the rear hatch to allow for quicker cooling. Within a few minutes I was not making any sounds, and at most I was 1/2 mile away.
Temperature gauge read no different, so I am sure I need a new sender. Had a spare belt which I installed immediately. Funny thing, old one was installed less than 3000 miles ago.
hoping I did not tweak the heads, I was planning on getting through this season before consideraton for rebuild. _________________ Its a mistress; an expensive, whiney, needy bitch of a mistress. Installed new sender (had one in the 'just in case' road kit). Van started right up and runs great - no leaks. So I do not foresee the overheating doing any major damage.
Ordered a couple new belts - one for spare, along with a pop top vent window seal kit, mosquito net for same window and shifter extension.
Love new gadgets that make the experience better. _________________ Its a mistress; an expensive, whiney, needy bitch of a mistress.
