Hey folks,

Are the heat shields on Syncros the same as 2WD 2.1's? Joe in Kelseyville has one for sale but doesn't know if his will fit my Syncro.

Mine's always been missing and I think having it would reduce engine compartment temperatures.

Second question for Tiico folks, is there any problem mounting them with the I-4's?

Any idea what the difference is, and can the 2wd be modified to fit? Bentley doesn't show much.

Yes, a syncro version is a 2wd version that has been cut and lengthened same the amount as the engine carrier bar. The length is added on the tail going parallel to the crank pulley. You will need a welder and some flat metal to extend it.

I think I'll go for it then rather than waiting to find a Syncro one. Not that critical a part and should be easy to weld to. Thanks for the clarification!

Yeah, it isn't a critical part and I would mod a 2wd version if I needed one.
Good luck.

1.5 inch extension as syncrodoka described. I can take a side-by-side photo of the two if it helps.
