The holidays put the project on hold for a little while but this weekend we did a few thing that will make the project pick up speed again. I changed the carbs to 48s from the Kadrons I had, we bolted down the body and a few other things. The guys came together and helped me get the body on and off , it was a good day.........even though it rain for 3 hours lol
Two future projects, keep and eye out for the 63 and 65!!
The side winder with the 1" tranny raise is right up against the apron, so I put some layers of heat shield.
Mehn I love those 48s, made an order from Jaycee and they look way different!!

Nothing special 1849cc |
Cool. The IDA's look great on there, did you have to jet them way down to get them to work on a mild engine? |

Working on that now. I changes the jets way down yea, changing emulations tubes and air correction jets as well. I sounds like the carbs are loading up when i try to take off. Once it gets into 2 and 3rd it works fine but firstt to second i think its dumping too much gas into the carbs. I'm new to this VW thing so I'm learning as i go along. _________________ Virgin Islands Nice!

Did you have the 3rd progression hole drilled? IDA's are great for running flat out, not much for cruising without work |

Actually I used th Empi 48's so they come with the hole drilled already, and they are switched around so it is easier to tune. I changed that stuff Sunday and the car is working wayyyy better. I went from .70 idles to .55 also went from 190 to 200 air correction jets. Aslo went from F7-F11 emulsion tubes. Still a little more dialing in but I think I'm almost there. _________________ Virgin Islands Nice!
