|
|
After many months thinking how to tackle this restoration, I decided to leave it in the hands of an expert; And now the car is gone to TRP for good TLC, this project will not be easy, it really needs a lot of metal replacement due to rust and previous collisions.
This is the story of my 56 ghia; I hope everyone enjoy this project. Here are some pics when I got it from the previous owner.
And here is a thread that I started when I was trying to do this job myself that I never started because I was too overwhelmed about the amount of work.
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4327687&highlight=#4327687
I was looking to modify the car in the past but now my idea has change and the restoration will be back to the original condition but with a twist...
Color: Antelope Brown/Dark brown top (as original painted) this car has the tow tone paint under layers of paint jobs. Can anyone guide me to the right color codes?
Interior: Looking to go back to the correct colors
Wheels: ????
Tranny: Not period correct
Engine: ????
Suspension: Low
Any ideas or comments please bring them forward... I appreciate any kind of feedback...

I almost gave up to the whole VW Hobby after loosing a lot in the previous years with some business closing out. But reading other people posts about their project it serve me of inspiration to continue looking on how to restore this car. _________________ You cannot fight with STUPID people; becasue you have to get down to their level and they will beat you up with experience.

Wow! This picture change everything. This is the first time I see the color combination ever, it is very slick sick... I just imagine the car low with chrome out wheels.

Here are some interior shots that might help. Looks like you need thin back seats.
