Need your help
I have a Whitestar and a unit that looks like Wesfalia furniture that locates behind the passenger seat. Essentially it's a worktop with a fold down cupboard and then space at the bottom for a fridge.
Is this a genuine Westfalia option or a homemade unit?
Thanks.

Not something that seems to have been offered on our side of the pond.

I would love to see pictures of it as I'm looking to build something to that effect for my Bluestar. _________________ Tim Potts

Looks like a Reimo based unit, they use the darker grey trim and those handles. Westy stuff is a lighter grey and the handles pull out not move sideways. |

Now that makes sense now I have looked at others.
I am modifying it to be a self contained weekend unit with a Smev hob / sink with clean and grey water tanks.
It will plug into the 12v sockets in the van and fix into the buddy seat locators.
Never seen another one so will try and be sympathetic with my changes.

If they are runners I can see in the bottom it probably had a sliding drawer which the Multivan chest-type fridge/coldbox sat in. The face of the drawer would probably match the rest of the unit, I have a very similar style one but in a different colour formica. If you wanted to make a matching door for the bottom half it would be quite straightforward as it's all still available from Reimo |

I've purchased, from Reimo last night, matching handles and am going to put a cupboard door on the bottom. They are runners but I am going to use the space for water and gas. I have the fridge which I will use stand alone. It's an Elecrtolux one and I'm sure it isn't the right one for the unit. |

it looks a fairly simple cabbinate to copy, if it's rare modifying it might not be for the best
i'd make a new one and include the modifications |

Fair point, but is it really rare?
Never seen one but that said someone must know what it is?

have you got a drawing to show us what you are going to include in the modified cabbinate
obviously if you are limited, if you wanting to sympathetically modify the one you have |

The top that is currently there is going to be used as a door for the lower hole where the fridge goes.
I am then going to replace the top with a piece of vordingher board and cut into that a hob / sink combo unit.
Apart from that no changes. In light of what you have said I may be as well to match the board and make a new door?
I am also going to template the whole unit so I am able to produce a replica.

start again, keep the unit you have or sell it on, it'll save you trying to match the door, as you are thinking to template it anyway |

Decided to use the unit and not copy it.
Its a Reimo unit and I ordered new handles from France, a Smev combination unit and some board that I used as a back panel.
