|
|
Hi all
I have been hearing clicking noise coming from rear lately and it happens when I turn left with my foot on gas. C v joint right? But which side of the axles is bad when clicking turning left? I have ej22 with peloquin's TBD in my tranny. Do I need to look for something more heavy-duty than stock if I need to replace the axles/joints? Thanks _________________ 90 westy 2wd w/ TBD |

if one has a limp they all may be gimp..
best to pull them all and repack them, don't just replace them they likely aren't bad.. just running dry & tight. _________________

Thanks. I have an extra axle that I can replace with for temporary use. I want to know which one to pull out because it makes clicking noise only when I turn left. Is this a good clue to tell which one is bad? _________________ 90 westy 2wd w/ TBD |

Could be either but I would guess that with a TBD if it only happens while turning left, then it's probably the left axle, but it could be either and they all should be cleaned, inspected, and re-lubed.
The stock VW CV's are plenty strong for an ej22 unless you're lifted with huge tires, just don't use the Chinese replacements as they don't last. |

I was going to guess it was the kids clicking the game boy buttons
I had the rear nut not tight enough and got a clicking in the turn. But i had been working on the brakes. If you havent been working back there I would look at the C/Vs
I have a 2.5 with the TBD stock c/vs no problems.
