So did you ever figure out what the original paint color was? Is that a little bit of Bamboo color I see on the LR qtr panel? _________________ 1957 Karmann Kabriolet "Franky"

Ninamashr,
Original paint is the light green. Amazon if I remember correctly. I've checked the car from top to bottom. The original color is in wheel wells, behind original fire wall, under hood etc.
I think it was a tourist delivered car. they would allow you to pick color and interior. I need to get my wife to send away for Birth Cert, but the one she got for my split did not have color stated. got my fingers crossed.
Lidpainter, thanks it was found in Yipsy/Ann Arbor area. _________________ '67 deluxe bus w/the little windows

Cool. Hope to see it in person one of these days. Looks like a big project but worth the effort I am sure. Good to know there's still good stuff squirreled away locally. Maybe one day after I clear out some space I'll look for a 'vert project. _________________

|

With the prices these days, I have decided to do a "budget rear view mirror" for my oval vert. I bought a repo mount from restojohnny. Picked up these adjustment arms and mirrors, also had one visor in the car when i got it. Just need to find the original size for the cross-rod. I figure I will have 'bout $200 in it when done.

Glad you are enjoying it and trying to keep it in one piece. See people it does pay to place wanted ads on the Samba.
Have fun with it! |

Heater channels bottoms and front/rear clip. I have a clean clip on the way. Im planning on trying to save what I can. Don't need a full resto, I am already in process of a split and a 21-window. Don't need another full project.
It will be on the road for the summer as is. _________________ '67 deluxe bus w/the little windows

Found this "metalic seegreen" written behind the rear seat.
was this somthing that was done standard? Maybe to keep organized in the production line? _________________ '67 deluxe bus w/the little windows

Seems to be common on Kabriolets. So I guess its not Amazon. Maybe the wheel color L381 Sea Green in poly? |
