The first pic of the blue one is great. Very cool! I didn't mind them in my thread. But you're right that they do deserve their own.
I love the Boones Farm one. Cool that they re-purposed it in the pic you posted.

Dale,
You missed the wine rack, the wine glasses, and the box speakers. I like it (although I would never want to own it), it has the 70's written all over it. I can hear Eric Burdon's "Spill the Wine" playing as we speak. _________________ Gary David Holbrook

I guess that's the difference between someone who is totally up on the technical aspects of this hobby vs another who can appreciate the journey our dune buggy culture (along with it's unique creations) has taken from the beginnings up until today (warts and all).
I enjoy looking at the progression, along with the different roads that people took in designing their builds. It's neat to see how we got from "there" to "here". _________________ Gary David Holbrook

The 1970's had some of the wildest, most unique, costums ever made! I think thy should pass out LSD in the schools If the kids today had at least half the creative thinking that the kids of the 70's had _________________ 1302s sunroof..

To me, at least half the appeal of buggies is their history and culture. That's what separates them from other types of vehicles. While I share the sentiment that I would never want one of the examples pictured in this thread in my garage, I can appreciate their uniqueness. They deserve a page in the dune buggy history books. Just one page, though. |

The fender line, front to rear on the Mini-T is as pretty as on any car I can think of. The rounded cowl and the tilted "box" are good bits too. The flat, rectangular grill is the biggest let down. The T theme pretty much dictated the flat windshield but the way it flares wider at the top is original makes it a little more appealing. I'd really like to know who designed it. It has a lot of Dave Deal kinda style.
The way the designer integrated the C-cab with the original design is really impressive. I'm sure most people who see it think its part of the basic buggy, which is unusual for buggies. |

Georg Barris? did the "T" buggy, but this is the mini-T so not sure. _________________ 1302s sunroof..

Exactly! Besides the fact that they're tons of fun, I got into buggies because of the historic aspect. Their whole design aesthetic and the culture/era/place they were created in is what makes them so unique and appealing to me. I couldn't care less about their evolution up to today. While I appreciate the build effort/quality, I'm not usually impressed by how modern you can make your buggy. Anyone can buy their way into the latest manx knockoff with recarro seats, nifty billet mirrors, and catalog wheels. But do something original and creative, breathe life into something that existed in an era long forgotten and you have my attention. It's the difference between the person who finds a '41 Chrysler to restore with a nod to a certain period and guy who goes out and buys a PT Cruiser with baby moons and every plastichrome accessory the dealer has to offer. That's just my useless opinion. |

I have always thought the C's are one of the koolest kits around. They look like they hopped off the box of an AMT model kit - except it's real and you can drive it! - Freakin hot! Some day I hope to own one...heck gimme two! |

This is a Berry Mini-T, built in Long Beach by Berry Industries. When I say I'd like to know who designed it, I mean the individual person.
It came out a year or so before the Barris T-Buggy. George Barris had nothing to do with this design, he just copied the concept. |

Those 'T-bucket buggy' variants were never my cup of tea. To those that like them, rock on!

The message that this conveys to me is one of a guy who believes he's on a 'leg mission'...
"Check me out in this buggy, ladies! I'm gonna get me some leg tonight, fo' shure!"

IF "C" cabs are so cool to all of you why are you not raving about the 1920's... Henry Ford was first to use "C" cab design in his Model T trucks...
