Syncro Vaccum Check Valve.

Is there supposed to be a (Brake) vacuum check valve in the line coming off the intake plenum on the 2.1 86 Syncro , is it supposed to be visible in the engine compartment like the 2WD vans? A van I recently picked up doesn't have one visible , it may be hidden underneath but I haven't found it yet.
