Hello all.
Will be replacing the u-joints on my ''89 driveshaft.
I cannot seem to find a u-joint that can be greased from the end of a cup.

Anyone have one of the cups drilled to install a grease point ?

I recall member Sodo customized some end caps. You’ll probably have better luck finding U Joints that have the grease fitting in the center of the cross. These are drilled for the grease to move to all 4 corners. Trade off is I suppose they could be considered weaker.

To do this you must drill the four bearing caps with a carbide drill-bit.
Not an easy process, you probably need metal-working experience and the drill bits are kind of expensive.
How-to: Syncro - Needle grease original driveshaft u-joints

The driveshaft was silent at 190,000 miles. I didn’t want to disturb the u-joints for fear it might vibrate. So I greased them while they were still mostly "good" (190,000 miles) thinking it would increase the lifespan.
One ( of the 8 ) seemed “dry” but I think its OK now.

I have been greasing every 25,000 miles and the grease comes out black.
From that.... I would not want to go 190,000 miles again.

I don't think you need a 'grease fitting'.
Covering the small hole with "Permatex® Ultra Gray" has been reliable.
Now at 235,000, the original u-joints are still silent Exclamation
45,000 miles since drilling the U-joint caps.

Pic above is original Syncro driveshaft #2: drilled and greased at 43,000 miles.
