got this original manx from the OG owner who built it in 1969 and put it in his garage in 1985, then I came along! I'd share a picture if I knew how!

You can upload it on the Samba from your computer. Put your cursor on the Gallery Icon above, then click add a photo. The picture has to be under 600 Kb total and less than 1600 X 1600 pixels. If its too big it will tell you and you'll have to compress it.
If its loaded on line someplace else with a jpg at the end of the address you can put it directly in your post if you click the Img icon above, before and after the address. |

Was able to upload it to the gallery, but how do I post the pic. on this forum. thanks!....
Update....my smart wife figured it out, man, I guess I'm just an idiot! Seems like a lot of work to upload pics?! Any how the gel-coat on it is mint aside from where the curtains had chaffed against the sides in the past. Does anyone know what name meyers manx gave to this color orange? Thanks |

what is the number on the serial number tag (rectangular tag on the body just above the tunnel opening behind the seats?)
We can tell you quite a bit about the body from that. _________________ GR |

Serial # M3144F913S. Like to find original front and rear bumper to replace these homemade jobbies if anyone has any leads. The original owner told me he has misplaced and or lost the rear badge, so I was wondering if that is available through Bruce and Winnie? I have not registered on their website yet. I do have the front badge fortunately.

Great find.
The mud flaps front and rear are interesting.
You can get the original style front bumper from Meyers Manx (Bruce calls it a nudge bar).
For the rear bumper the small 1in diameter bar bolted to a skid plate. Both are available from many vendors.
Both of these front and rear bumpers really do not do much for protection of buggy.
If you are trying to make it look original then use the small bumpers.
If you plan on driving it a lot. I would look into getting something with a little more protection.
Welcome to the world of buggies. They are a lot of fun. _________________ Joseph

I was just on the site, my virus protection has not given me any notice about a virus.
It has not shown any infection for over a month now.
The thread in the stickie needs to be removed. I sent a message to the moderator without getting any reply. _________________ Joseph

Great find, looks like an old Mass plate on the car. You may want to keep the mudflaps and bumpers on until after you register the car. Tom _________________ Manxter #16, 1968 Meyers Manx & Kick-Out SS #16 (WIP)

Awesome find! Just when I thought there weren't any more barn finds out there, another one appears.
Those bumpers and mud flaps definitely look like they are there to satisfy a vehicle code. I would hang onto them in case they are needed for any future inspections. The buggy will look 10 times better with the proper bumpers on it.
Congrats on the great find!

That's pretty cool with the original top and all. The back bumper looks like they just stood off the original bumper? |

Thanks for all the good info and pep talk! We lost power during hurricane Irene, and it blew our modem up for our wireless internet. Back online now!
TODAY I removed the rear bumper and mud flaps, Also washed 26 years of dirt and and road grime off. Then proceeded to hand buff the orig. gelcoat. Looks pretty tight! Will post pics soon.
Anyone have a rear manx emblem or know if they are available???? Thanks! |
