I've got the Syncro parked in a hangar and have been waiting to start working on it. Unfortunately when I bought it, it was the busy part of the year for work. Finally I will be getting the transaxle out to get it rebuilt. I feel like a kid again...Staying up late looking at the Samba...Dreaming about the mods....I think my new wife is questioning my sanity...Syncronitus...

Who has worked with Gary Zink for transaxle rebuilds? I went to his shop and was very impressed. He had all the parts in stock to do a syncro rebuild and is very familiar working with them. He also agreed to split it open with me there to show me what has failed, along with giving me a rundown on the inner workings and the rebuild process.

Can't wait to get on the road!

Scott

What a fun time. I recently had mine done elsewhere. This would be a prime time to take pictures of the insides of a transmission.

Vanagon Porn!

Keep having fun!

Where in Washington are you, and at what airport do you have a hangar? My dad has a plane at the Bremerton airport and I know they frown at people keeping cars there. They threatened to kick him out when i was keeping my Mustang parked behind his plane , and he had two small boats in there, so just a heads up.

I've got it at the Auburn Airport. Many tennants there have cars in their hangars. In fact, one garage has a couple Porsche Speedsters (guessing replicas). Thanks for the heads up though.
