A bunch of VW enthusiasts in the Charleston/Huntington WV area have talked about forming a club. Well, lets get it started.
We have a meeting scheduled for 6:30 PM Friday 9-16-11 at Mayberry's Restaurant along route 60 in Saint Albans, WV. This is the last Friday Mayberry's will have a organized cruise in, (there will be all makes of cars at this cruise in)
The meeting is scheduled rain or shine (Bring your VW's if you like) so we can discuss a name, logo's, Tee Shirts, Events to attend in 2012, shows to cruise to, maybe a VW show we can put on for a charity, a monthly get together.
Looking to maintain a free club to get together and have VW oriented fun. Help members maintain their rides, swap parts, tell tall tails, cruise the WV roads together, attend local and distant shows together.
All are invited to attend. |

Cool!
I have it posted on facebook, but the samba will not support a fb link. I have 9 more attending from fb:
Dee and Richard
Matt P.
Scott
David C.
Tyler
Kenny
Dave W.
Justin
Hoping to get the following acomplished:
1. Name the club
2. See who is good at art to craft a logo(s) that we could vote on
3. Get the word out about the cruise for Bridge Day in October
4. See if anyone is good at working a possible internet site
5. Develop a wish list of events, shows, cruises that we would want to attend as a group (or partial group or just FYI).
6. email list for contacting members.
7. Discuss a possible banner to hang at shows we attend.
8. Loose, informal rules. (like if water cooled VW's are accepted) _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

I will be there. I'm working in poca, so that's right down the road. I will have about three hours to kill until the meet. |

Wonder if you would get ahold of Homer and invite him. Bring Nancy too, I hear she has a Baja. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Kill the hours at Mayberry's. The actual cruise in starts at 5 PM, but people get there early. I scheduled it for 6:30 to allow people to make it in from work. Drive your baja! _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

I'll call Homer. I'll also let Shaun know when I pick up the bay window this week. |

Low light Bay? Cool! Wish I did not have to work, I would help.
BTW, how many VW's you have now? 6? 6 1/2? _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

I spoke with Shaun about it earlier. He'll be out of town at a swap that weekend, he's leaving Friday. He's interested in the bridge day trip though. May be bringing some guys from the Parkersburg area along. The more VWs at these local cruise in/ shows the better. |

55 oval drag car
62 titled pan
So 6 1/2.
They keep multiplying! |

Keith, you and I are now tied. But, when the white baja is done and Eric takes it, you will be out front and breaking away.
I have been thinking about building a rail bugy useing one of the torsion housings I have, a LP front end and that left over swing drag trans I have. Making the frame with the new bender I bought. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Zac, what swap meet is he going to? VW or all makes? _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

I think he said it was Chevy show? In Canfield I think. It wasn't a VW show. He's taking his bus loaded with domestic parts. |

Just thought about it Keith, if you do not want that aluminum fuel cell for your baja, if it does not fit, I will buy it from you for my rail build. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Been thinking on it hard about going Keith. For me it will come down to how I feel health wise. I was up there close last weekend. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

I'm going to try to make the meet. It will be weather permitting for me though since the top on the Thing has a lot of peep holes. Sounds like a great idea. I'd also be interested in the Bridge Day cruise. The last Bridge Day I attended I met a few guys that had a few nice VWs at a car show near the bridge. It was pretty impressive. _________________ 73 Thing
