Assume there is a bus on the site for sale that is being advertised fraudently. The person selling this bus is saying this bus is alot of things that it isn't to try and sell it for more than it is worth. I think it happens sometimes. The problem is I know of one such bus on this site right now. I'm sure anyone who knows anything about buses will not pay what the asking price is, but what about the new kid who is stoked to get a bus, hasn't done much research and buys this POS. Sure, it is his job to check everything out before he buys the bus. So he buys the bus, gets it home and finds out that this bus isn't what he thought it was.
Poor kid gets burned and hates VW's and VW people forever. That is not the way I want other people to see this hobby that I love so much. Now, concerning this bus that IS on this site, should I expose this person for the bus neglector that he is or is it none of my business. This could be the bus your looking at buying right now. Please advise. Thank you |

It would be unethical NOT to expose someone who is deliberately trying to deceive someone in the classifieds. If this guy's trying to rip people off and you don't clue folks in to what he's doing, you are supporting his deceptive practices. It is in the interests of anyone on here to expose shady deals or price gouging when you know about them.
That's my view, anyway. Just do what you think is right. |

| I would contact the person in question and let them know that there ad is deceptive. Advise them to correct it. If they don't do it asap, then let the rest of us know what bus is being misrepresented and why. |

The problem is this guy is notoroiously shady in all his deals. I can contact him and it would do no good, but I do not feel...

| Well, it seems that I am the only one interested in buses, so I can write what I want. My thoughts on buses...there are only a few reasons to trailor a bus, buses were never designed to be lowriders, metal cutting on buses is a no-no, painting buses colors other than original is acceptable but not preferred, racks always kick ass... |

| buses are hard to make into a good money-making investment (which is the way I like it), vw should've made more double doors and walk thru's, double cabs kick ass, single cabs don't, campers are one of the coolest models, even more so than deluxes, and almost as much as double cabs...well as cool as double cabs, stock is better, 2-3 clean buses is better than a whole slew of rusty buses...anybody out there? |

Hey, you have to expose mofo's like this shyster with the 61 dc. Honestly, I wouldn't buy anything off this site without an on-site inspection, but who has the scratch to fly across the country to check out a car? There is a service through Ebay that will do inspections for you at your cost before you buy, but do they know vintage VW's? I don't know, but it's probably better than nothing. Let the buyer beware!! Thanks for exposing bad characters.
Cheers |

| I agree w/you manaos. People should check things out in person before laying down a stack of cash. I would like to think that people could also trust someone that they are buying a bus from, but unfortunately there are people out who only think of themselves and try to rip the rest of us off. |

I wanted to add...
This dude in st george can ask any price he wants, thats fair, but what isn't fair is saying a bus is something that it's not.
If your going to ask a high price, at least do the buyer the favor of being honest w/ him. If your selling a big piece of shit, tell the buyer it's a big piece of shit.
It's the ol' golden rule man. |

| There is nothing wrong with the bus. It's the person advertising it. He will tell you what will get him the money. You can buy the bus, but I would question everything that he has advertised about it. |

I'm just trying to look out for the newby's
who may not know as much about buses. If I knew of any other buses on this site that were being advertised falsely, I would try to warn would-be buyers, wouldn't you? |
