Interesting that these photos are in the same place, note the church steeple and the adjacent round building. Different viewpoints though. And the Bugs are not the same Bugs. Both are Deluxe models and may both be L87 PerlWeiss color as my '65 Fly 'N Drive Vacation Bug delivered in Frankfurt. But the pics with the lady next to the Bug is an early 60s, while the other on the side of the hill looking toward the town is a 58-60. Maybe photos from the same family taken on different excursions to the same place in different years?

These are European Market Bugs and I'm not certain that all features were changed at the same time as in US market Bugs, like '67 Euro Market Bugs still had glass headlight covers even if 12V electrics. And '68 Euro Market Bugs still had the smooth rounded bumper blade while American Market '68s got the square bumper with the black stripe in the center.

Possibly. The first photo's steeple has a horizontal line above the window, then a prominent peaked "deflector" above that. The 2nd photo does not have the deflector. The 1st photo is the village of Heiligenblut, Austria; located at the southern end of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. I've been at this very spot nearly 40 yrs ago. Colleague in the Wolfsburg VW R&D office where I worked had a vacation home off to the right.

Both cars could be '60 or '61. The one in the top photo has the '60-and-later dished steering wheel, and the one in the lower photo has had later taillights fitted to the lower mounting holes in the fenders.

This is an odd coincidence, because these photos come from entirely different sources.

cool stone guard but don't think it would stop a 'roo! I like the rustic way of loading onto a truck to cross a river.
