First car at starting line is Simca Vedette#69, probably an early Brazilian production model, sitting on the front of the grid alongside Alex Ribiero's home-built VW-based special and Plymouth . Driver of the Ribiero car is Nelson Piquet. _________________ '57 type 1 Blackberry

Obviously crowd control was a foreign concept to those Brasilian racers then.
Nelson Piquet went on to become an F1 champ though. _________________ Richard

Twenty-six cents a gallon.
Now I'm depressed.
How many air cooled cars in this photo?
Am I imagining that's a fastback at the far left heading out of the picture?
Probably.
Corvair at near far right.
So three for sure, maybe four. |
