Just checked the stamping in my 16" wheels and it says 4/54 what does this mean - not right for my 51? |

How difficult is it to find 16" rims of any of these widths?
I have purchased a 1950 that was vandalized into junk but plan to rebuild if possible.
Does anyone have any 16" rims? If so, is there such a thing as a 4 x 16 rim?
I am assuming these are all 5 x 205mm, correct?
Thanks in advance for your help. _________________ L'audace! L'audace! Toujours l'audace! |

After having done more research, I think we're going with 15" jobs, I can't spend 6,000 for wheels. _________________ L'audace! L'audace! Toujours l'audace! |

Keep looking everywhere for wheels. 16" wheels are normally priced at about $100-$200/ea _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

If you limit your purchase to 5, it will be a lot less than $6000.
Beetle 16s are the cheapest of all 3 above and not hard to locate given a short amount of time.
Here's one set of 4 with tires

Yes on 5x205mm. _________________ How to Post Photos

Thanks,i SENT A NOTE! I would be happy with Beetle or bus. What would be the max width on tire size? 145? 155? 165? _________________ L'audace! L'audace! Toujours l'audace! |

I don't know if it is safe to mount radials on these wheels due to the narrow width. _________________ How to Post Photos

In response to that, this is how I moderate this sort of thing:
This is ok as long as someone is specifically asking and it is a current conversation.
(I delete posts where someone digs up an old thread to post a link to their ad)
But... it's better just to contact the person directly rather than post. _________________ How to Post Photos

Is it possible to fit Barndoor 3.5" 16" wheels on a split beetle or will there be difficulties when turning?
Is anyone running barndoor rims?
Thanks |
