"my precious" traveled it's first legal mile, with me grinning ear to ear. People had some wild looks as the wreck rolled by, got some some thumbs up too. Some folks just stopped their cars and stared.

Steve,
There have been some moments getting this thing from the fence row to the road...those are all forgotten now, except for the burns from laying under it welding.... _________________ kombisutra wrote:

Been having a hoot, doing my weekly shake down cruse!
I am amazed at the amount of attention that "my precious" draws.
My wife did not believe me, till photo's were snapped and the admiring
crowds gathered and the questions began.
So far driving it a joy, it continues to start and run. Still many things to fix, maybe turn signals next...
A friend called and asked if I was ok, the police were running my plates and he heard my name on his scanner...
Oh yeah, Holly will start on the logo's this week.

It's awesome to see this bus alive. I first saw it off of Highway F north of Jefferson City in about 1991. I remember it had a decent cargo floor and most of its belly pans, which is pretty uncommon in these parts.... _________________ '57 sunroof Standard
