EVERY Friday night from ( about ) March to October (weather permitting) in Stanley N.C. at the Hardees/Red Burrito, classic or any special car cruise in. I never see too many of the air cooled brigade. Always a good turn out for these as well. Cars start parking around 5. Get a free attendance raffle ticket as you cruise in for a free drink and drawings around 8:30. Usually only a couple of us air coolers show up, maybe we need to bomb the place one night with German Metal. Tell em the boys at Stewart's Rod Shop sent ya.
Just a few of us most of the time. 50-100 cars total usually.

I "plan" to drive "Operation X" there on 6/8/12........ 
After work.. I'll be there about 7 or so..
Im still sayin'.... we need to bomb it one Friday night with about 50+ air cooled cars...

Maybe Ill leave straight from work...
That will put me there a little earlier.. It all depends on how much grease I have attached to me..
Spread the word..
Oh and Bring a chair...
Looks like if an air cooled bombing ever does happen.. its because you and I organize it...and get the word out...
Maybe we can work on that...

If you were there and we didnt meet... ad your information and pictures if you got em!
We talked last night about an air cooled raid sometime in the future, but we need more......air cooled support..

Yea, was nice meeting up, funny that we actually spoke at shadyside about that air cleaner and didn't even know who I was talkin to. 
I was surprised at seeing 120+ cars there though.
Definitely need more AIR COOLED!

When I lived in Stanley ... the place where the Hardee's is was a corn field. One block down towards Mt. Holy was a used car lot. In 1974 ... I bought a 1967 VW beetle ... Savannah Beige. 
Had 40,000 original miles on it.
I certainly would like to own it again.

I made it out last week...drove the 67 "Blue Bomber" spoted a few Vw's with no owners around to speak to.
A white "Thing" caught my eye as I was pulling in. Nice.

I doubt Ill make it to Stanley this Friday night.. Not sure... The wife wants to bring the Dune Buggy one night, so who knows...
Swoogers... I guess it should be...
It seems like I forget it every month... until its too late....
I usually hit 2 of them a year.

| Its been a while since I have been out that way and I live in Mt. Holly. Last time I was at that cruise in I was driving my dads Nova. Hopefully my Beetle will be running next year and I will start coming up there. Glad to see it has gotten bigger than what it use to be. |

Ive been going on and off for about.....15 years now. Yeah its really outgrown Hardees and regularly spills over into the adjacent surrounding drives of Hardees.
Mt. Holy huh.?
I worked with Spruill Cheverolet for 7 years, and the 7 years before that worked In Belmont...
You dont need a running VW to join in.. Just come out anyway and introduce yourself.....
Be nice to snap some photos of local members or members and thier cars that attend.

| Yea I know I don't need a VW to join but I normally dont go around older car cruise in's unless im in an older car haha. Yea I know its not an old car cruise in but thats normally what attends and as of now Im hardly ever around on fridays with me working two jobs until the end of the year. |
