I just bought a 71 fasty and it has been switched from FI to dual weber carbs. It doesn't run good at all seems like it won't take the fuel when I drive it and is is poping and just won't get rpm's. I noticed that the fuel pump is leaking so going to replace that. The guy put a tee in the fuel line and I think it was to put the return and main lines out of the tank together, I have no clue if this is ok to do or not. He has the fuel regulator set at 4lbs also. Is there anything else I should look into to get it running properly? Has a euromax distributor with pertronix pointless system inside it.

Thanks
Butch

the regulator should really be set lower, like 2.8-3.5 PSI IIRC, BUT the regulator itself might not be all that accurate to begin with.

the T is ok, but you should really have a filter under the tank, AND NOT IN THE ENGINE BAY.

the euromax distributor is new to me -- never heard of it -- but if its a vacuum advance then it should run fine (assuming the pertronix kit is installed correctly) if "euromax" is the name EMPI is giving to chinese 009's these days, then:

go to the gym, pump some iron, and then in a few weeks when you're a hulked out spartan of a man chuck that distributor as FAR into the nearest ocean, canyon, or garbage bin as you can and get ANYTHING else. you know you've done it right if it's completely, totally unusable except as a modern art piece or a model sailboat anchor.

34 webers, in my humble experience, are damn near impossible to tune right paired with a 009.
