It should have a flat cam, but to be sure, remove the oil pump and look inside.

If your engine is original 1500 you might use a type 3 oil pump which is slightly larger in capacity.

Since I don't know much about the inside of my engine. What would the diff mean between the two cams. Is one better then another?

Not sure why they changed bit all performance cams are flat. It just makes it easier since vendors only need to carry one oil pump.

nothing is different in the cam profile. they perform exactly the same because they are the same. the only difference is in the cam gear attachment, 3 vs 4 bolts and dished or flat cam end.

And before putting in the pump, be sure that you've blueprinted it. Sand the gears to the same depth, the body to match, and the cover plate should be shiny enough to shave in. And make sure the shaft has the proper amount of engagement.

I bought my new oil pump from Gene Berg; it was very nice and had, had pretty good fit (though I did do a bit of sanding) and good installation instructions.

71 and newer 1600s got the dished cam, the dish was to make room for A bigger oil pump/with A bigger drive gear. performance cams as posted are all flat and require A special pump that sticks out further.
