|

As some of you know, (another thread) my parents van was rolled off a hill in West Virginia. I drove my westy up to visit and guess what I found in the garage.
The Fiamma35 awning. It wasn't taken by the insurance company.
Can the aluminum case be fixed? Does Fiamma sell a replacement case.
I'd love to put the awning on their new van.
BTW West Virgina is beautiful this time of year _________________ 84 Westy

Does anyone have an URL that works for Fiamma? My awning needs some work and I'd like to get parts, maybe a replacement fabric but I can't seem to find a link that works. _________________ NAHT hightop availability May 18 2023 -

I have bought a few replacement parts over the years for my awning. So far they have had everything I needed and at surprisingly good prices.
I would bet that awning pictured above has more damage than just the case though. I would bet that the tube the fabric rolls on/off is also bent beyond repair. I would call and price the parts though as you never know. It might be cost effective to repair. _________________ Bill M

Just as an update. I took apart the awning and found that the case is bent, as well as the tube that holds the legs on one side.
The Fiamma is extremely well built. I'm standing on pieces trying to get them back straight (I'm over 220lbs). Nothing has moved.
I called Fiamma and was advised the case alone is $500 and they don't sell damaged awnings (so maybe I could build one from two.)
So I guess it won't be cost effective to keep it. What a shame. I really like the way it is designed _________________ 84 Westy
