Hi guys,

I'm restoring a T Buggy (with C-cab top) and am wondering if you might be able to help me figure out how to find some missing parts.

Post some Pics, so we can see what Your working with.

I don't have any bumpers. I've heard that they are Model T, or A bumpers, but don't know what length they are. Any ideas for a source on them?

Bumpers, No clue, I can take more pics and measure if you like.

I also need the entire latch/handle assemblies for the rear doors. Do those of you who have them see any brand, or model numbers on them?

Sorry, busy week. Are you asking about the door latches?
If so,

2 EA 565698-AFFR LATCH ASSY. DBL. FLUSH ZP. RH. 34.52 69.04
2 EA 25-122 (PO380)NON-LOCKING "T" HANDLE 8.36 16.72

Mill Supply Inc. http://www.millsupply.com/

My Buggy is also missing the Kason hinges for the side (faux) doors. I read on this thread that the side hinges had no offset, but the car looks like it should have 1/8" offset hinges, because there's no raised area where the hinge attaches to the body, while there is a raised area on the door part. Does that sound right?

http://www.coldsupply.com/Kason-1070-04-Reversible-Surfacemount-Hinge-78-Offset-_p_5246.html

Both style hinges are still available...the 7/8th inch rise for the rear and the flat ones for the sides.

One last question, did you guys ever get a T Buggy registry going?

That Kind of Dropped, Randy was doing that, and sold his.

I appreciate any info you may have.

Thanks!
Dave

Bill

Hi Bill,

Thank you so much, those are the exact door latches I needed! I'd spent a few hours searching two-point latches and hadn't come up with anything. You just saved me a bunch of time!!

It looks like you have a black spacer under the top part of the side door hinges in your resto pics. Is that correct?

If you don't mind measuring your bumpers, that would be a big help. Length and width of the bars, please. I think your reso pics are good, don't need more there. They are chrome plated, not Stainless Steel, right?

Thanks again for your help!

Cheers!
Dave

Good deal Dave, Glad that helped.

On the side hinges, yes to the spacer, just made out of some scrap plastic.

For the measurements, I'll have to get with You next week, Working this afternoon and two shows this weekend.

Thanks for the Pictures, and Good Luck,

Bill

Sorry Sad Back when Bruce Meyers created the Manx, he found that the stock VW seats were far to high to be comfortable, (I agree) so he cut the fames down several inches to use the VW seats. He never published plans afik, just a diy deal. When I worked for Barris building these cars, we had low fiberglass bucket seats with tuck and roll with the "Barris" logo heat molded in to the upper seat back. Pretty cool. These seats were made to fit on the bare unmodified VW seat frames/sliders, after all the original upholstery and spring boxes were removed. They were quite comfortable. On a non Barris buggy I built for myself, I used Austin Healy 3000 bucket seats on VW frames. They fit so well, it looked factory.
I'm sure you can find buggy seats for a low price here on the samba.

Thanks Jack and Manx1173. Looking at some seats at this time, and I did order the pedal extenders.
Anyone know if I can gain more room between the Gas and Brake pedals, (as in heating and bending) ?

And Dave, glad that worked for You.

Thanks Again, and have a Great Day,

Bill

Yeah, I think you are right, but gives more room to shift your braking foot to the left. Very Happy

No price break, just ruined My material with the shoulder harness holes. I am still "working" on a solution. (They admitted to the screw-up, that's half the battle.)

My thoughts on the material and cost to ship it to them is, That is what I wanted, and PRP worked with me to make it happen. Then a Mistake, That can happen to anyone.

I'll let You Guys know what the final solution is.

Except for those Holes, I Love the PRP Seats..............

Have a Great Day,

Bill
