Hey guys. I'm wondering if any of you electrically smart people could tell me how to make one of these out of some generic automotive relays. I'm trying to put a BA4 gas heater out of a 411/412 in my bus and don't have this part. It's the double relay shown below.

No one? Surely there are some vw electrical geniuses on this forum. |
im no genius but it seem like you need 3 relays, first one has to have the 87a conection
first one:
87a goes to E
30 goes to G
86 goes to H
85 goes to A
second one:
85 goes to 85 of the first one
86 goes to B
87 goes to E
30 goes to F
third one:
85 goes to second relays 85
86 goes to second relays 86
30 goes to C
87 goes to D
donpt know if thats absolutly right but it seems like that _________________ "Sé que en algún lugar sus dedos pelean con un tornillo" (Remembering Carlos Amat)

Hey thanks. I can't wrap my brain around this stuff. I will give this set up a try and check over all the routing and see if I can get it working. If anyone else wants to chime in, feel free. _________________ air-cooled or nothing for me

here is the entire wiring diagram

regarding the above explanation, don't the relays with connection 87a also have 87, totalling 5 connections? What would I do with terminal 87 then? |
don´t use it _________________ "Sé que en algún lugar sus dedos pelean con un tornillo" (Remembering Carlos Amat)

If it's anything like a BA-6 safety relay where are the resistors?, or are they separate on a BA-4? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Halfway through explaining this I realized just how dangerous this is.
Please have a professional check your design and test operation outside before installation. Do you need help finding the original parts?
That being said, this is how I would wire it. (I am not a pro, not even close)
Keep in mind, some relays are NO and some are NC...
