Dealing with break up anxiety.

Hey guys..I don't even know if this is appropriate to post in the forums but I need some help from some fellow members. So here I go..A little over a month ago my now ex-girlfriend and I split after almost 5 years of being together. I thought that the anxiety and pain of it would have gone away by now..Or atleast dulled down a little, but unfortunatly, they haven't. I'm currently headed to one of our favorite places to finish up a 59 Ghia project started 2 years ago. But the thought of being there with out her at 'our' favorite place is really eating at me and I don't know what to do. I don't mean to whine or spill my guts but I'm sick of feeling like this and would hope that I could get some help from those who know what this feels like.

I guess it also depends on who broke it off and what the circumstances for it were (not that you have to share). But, hows the saying go?...Time heals all wounds..Well..maybe, it sucks regardless.
Get out with your friends. go hang out, go places, get involved in activities, etc.. It will work itself out. Maybe for the best in the end after all.
Just think of it this way...At least you didn't get married and end up divorced with a kid 15 years later. That's when things really suck.

Stay busy with cool hobbies (metal shaping is my fave) and focus on self growth. Also be sure to go out " sniffing" around all that you can, in five years you have missed out on a lot of fine available poonie…so be sure to play catch up.

Heartbreak sucks, and it WILL take a toll on you... if you let it. Ya' broke up for a reason(s). Don't look or walk backwards... it seldom works out. Takes a few weeks of being back together (after the make-up sex) to remember why you broke up. Wink

Sorry to hear it didn't work out. Feel lucky that you didn't get married. That would have been worse.

It's only been a month? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's not going to get much better any time soon. I had a girl break up with me after 4 years. It still hurt some a year afterward and I already had a new girlfriend...a better one. Not until I met my wife a couple of years later did I feel completely "done" with it.
Anybody who knows me knows that this will make no sense coming from my keyboard, but you need to go ho humpin', that's what you need. That's what they're there for, brother. It'll make ya feel better! Very Happy

It sucks, and it hurts, but it's not the end of the world, it's the beginning of a new world. Put on you big boy undies and go get some strange, have a beer, and remember the annoying shit that she did that got on your last damn nerve. Fear not, there'll be others that break your heart, and others whom heart you'll break. It's the cycle of love. Enjoy it.

Tough break, you will get over it in time. If it's guilt eating at you for something you did or feel you did forgive yourself, and move on.
If it's because it's something she did and you were not to blame try to forgive her and move on. Life is too short.

Dont forget to post nay-keed pics of her on social websites! Other chicks love that!

Chickengeorge is right It will take some time before the pain will go away. My ex and I broke up after 3 years. Even thought it has only been 2 1/2 months since the break up, I have started to feel much better about it. All of the sudden one day it was like someone flipped a switch and most of the pain went away. I thought about our relationship. I loved her so much but I wasn't really that happy with her. At least she didn't start sleeping with one of your friends like a week after y'all broke up like she did to me. Then I was suppose to believe that nothing was going on between them before we broke up. What sucks too is I still see her all the time. There are plenty of fish in the sea. For now though I think I will enjoy just being alone.

I ended my relationSHIT with my ex of two years, it's taken almost a year to feel comfortable going out with girls. It got rough for me. I ended up getting so distracted at my job that I ended up quitting that place (a series of events also drove me to do so, but the break up was a cause). It took FOREVER to get used to having all of that extra free time again. I didn't know what to do with all that time. The only added bonus that I noticed was that i always seemed to have extra money in my pockets Laughing

Go hang out with your buddies. have a good time. keep your self occupied. listen to music (metal was my answer). do hobbies that you yourself enjoyed. bike ride. run. off road. drive fast. whatever it is, do it.
DO NOT get into a routine, that doesnt help. make it random.

oh, and I'm sorry about the bad news, bud. It'll get better, believe it, or not.
