mounts almost done. positioned the trans as close to the torsion tube as possible so the engine doesnt stick out the back any farther then needed

Hi, This is David Barrett, Manxchassis.com
I have had a few calls about this build, NO this is not my build
My user name on thesamba is DavidB, so the confusion comes from the mention of David B in the first posting.
The chassis looks similar to my chassis I regularly build for manx cars, but the details are not the same. This post is to point out that I did not build this chassis, That is all.
I am in the middle of two full tube chassis with chevy ecotec motors, as I am not fond of subaru. I will see if I can get a pic up here.
Good luck with the build.

Sorry for the confusion David B. I really admire your work and before I started, I wanted to have you build my frame but I just could not afford it. I also want to find someone closer so I could help and have some input on the frame and cage. The Dave that is helping/doing my frame does a lot of desert racing stuff ( frames and suspension work).

Kreelak, Glad that I was able to meet-up with you today. Nice build that you got going there. Too bad it wasn't at your place at the time, I would have really liked to see it. Thanks again for the deal. I will surely follow your build and will start posting up when I get mine going.

im real excited just got the frame home hung some parts on it to get an idea what it will look like
im not sure about the front bumper i may change it a bit what do you guys think
im real happy with the placement of the 2.5 subaru engine and 5 speed trans i love the engine cage. it fits around the engine real tight
im mounting the headers in backwards so i can us a chunnk of ubend and mount zoomies at the top of the engine cage on both sides

Kreelak, looks like you are in the fun stage of the build. It is like playing with a "big boy" erector set, isnt it? It's a real good time to work out ergonomics., gauge and control placement, etc..body can come off and go back on in minutes for test fitting, rather than hours as you get closer to completion.
I think if you picture that front bumper with some fog lights and/or maybe a license plate in that gap between the two front bumper bars you'll be less conflicted about whether you like it. Just food for thought. |

Looking VERY nice indeed!!! Front bumper can be worked with LATER as the build progresses I think. Hope to see it in person some day, fab work looks truly amazing so far.
