I picked this up from Avery's Air-cooled. He still has to cut the piece out that draws air from inside the bus and yank a few more parts. I plan to go though this thoroughly. Its going to be a challenge to get this heater installed and set-up right. My Grandfather has a fab shop. Lathe, milling machine, a few welders, sand blaster, pipe and sheet metal benders ect ect. I have used all many times. My fridge restore project is in it's final stages so I needed another project.
Here it is in the trunk of my car.

I plan to update this thread as I go along. I will most likely start working on it after I get back from vacation. I payed 145 for the whole setup but like I said Toby is still getting some of the last bits. There is only him and another guy working there now. 30,000 square feet of the indoor salvage yard is a lot to keep up with only 2 guys. _________________ 1973 VW Riviera camper 1.7L type 4 dual carbs automatic transmission. How has the install process been going?
I have everything but the bits to plumb the cabin air back into the heater, but I haven't even started installing any of it yet. I know my setup works as I pulled it myself and saw it working first hand, but it was in a Vanagon so the path to pull in the cabin air is a lot different. ill have to source the bit Avery's was going to cut for you or make something DIY.
Im interested in hearing how your progress has come along... |
