Sold at $26.5k, no last minute rush to buy either.... |
It wasn't very attractive, really, in black and blue...I think the non-originality hurt the price, too.
Interested to see where this '88 Westy ends up:

330k is a lot of miles. |
I'd rather have a 330k vehicle that has been well looked after and I know I can trust with good documented history in hand as opposed to a lower-mileage vehicle with no history. |
what???
of course there was docs about the van so well kept... the seller didnt realize that it was or was not a 1.9 or when it was converted to a 2.1... those kind of documents???
Maybe you were the seller or previous owner??? I never had a horse in the race.... just super tired, of people trying to use these as a path to profit instead of passion (idealist I know)... _________________ 65 deluxe

Sorry, I think my point came across incorrectly. It wasn't specific to the vehicle in question. In general I would prefer a well documented vehicle history and care, as opposed to a low-mileage vehicle with little to no history. |

This one was posted earlier today. Pretty rough around the edges with high miles (275K++) and some suspect body work + rust. It's listed as a 1984 and features a post 1986 grill and square headlights??
I am thinking $15K - $16K would be quite generous, but then again, its on BaT.

Here is a 1984 tin top i came across on Offerup.com in Hemet Ca. about 90 miles north San Diego. $3500.00. Dont know how to add a link.Looks like attempt to rebuild engine and gave up. Seller is Ang-N-Pebbz143 on offer up. I think it would make for a great starter van.Bring a trailer...and good luck _________________ 1984 Vanagon GL, Wolfsburg Westy 1.9 ltr |

I dont know, that rust is pretty bad. I'd guess somewhere around 10k but only because its in California |

....and sold for $16,250, so definitely a BaT premium on this one. _________________ 1991 Westfalia EJ251, 1972 Volvo 1800 ES |

For the first time I watched this one live for the last 5 minutes and that was fun to see in real time. Sold for $39,250
For my Canadian friends, hold onto your hat. $49,304.43
Is my '87 worth that? I will never know. |

Looks like taking it to the shop was an investment that paid off for the seller. _________________ '87 Syncro
