....and sold for $21K, which might suggest that even with $5K-$6K in photography one can't push the pricing envelope that much further on tin-tops.
For reference, this is the agency that @911r uses for his auctions:

Why would you do that to a Multivan? Especially an Orly Blue one. My guess is, is that it’s cheaper to fill the holes and fix the bumpers than the cost of GW bumpers, I like the GW bumpers on a 4WD or a chunky 2 WD.
In my opinion that is top money for a proper MV. I think we have uninformed buyers that buy on impulse.

^^^^all any auction needs is two people who really want the vehicle to drive up the price, which I think was the case here. Once it hit $40K, there were only bidders in the mix, both whom really wanted it until common sense and financial realities set in on one side. _________________ 1991 Westfalia EJ251, 1972 Volvo 1800 ES |

only got through 106 out of the 247 pictures but you think they could have cleaned out the mouse poop from the glove for that trice...probably cost them $10k

Not a Vanagon, but this GTI drove into crazy-town and fetched $87K. 2x the previous high selling price and 4x the typical selling price. It's 2022 all over again.
