Here is my latest. This car was acquired from the Original Family owners. I bought the car from the son of the original owner. The car was garaged from new until the Son got the car and then it was stored outside for about 5 years. It's been painted on the outside only 1 time. The inside paint is all original. The dash is incredible. The seats and carpet upholstery have been replaced but everything else is original inside. The original 1300 engine came with the deal but the PO had a 1600 Single Port longblock installed with all the original components. It is a pretty straight car having only been slightly bumped in the front but that has been straightened out now and the only rust on the car is on the passenger side door and that it. The pan is perfect!. Here are some pictures of the car how i got it and some after some TLC.

Here is some After shots. I took out the seats and mats and cleaned up everthing on the floor and all the mats and vacuum it all pretty good. I cleaned under the hood and changed the bumpers that came with the car. The bumpers are pretty cheesy but at least not Rusty! I will get originals later and put those on when i can. I also polished the car up a little and detailed the motor and all the wheels and hubcaps.

Wow. Great car. I can't believe how many of these cars there are out there that some folks STILL run across VWs in this condition. You just start thinking that almost all of them have wound up where they're going to wind up and then, BAM! A car like this.....almost completely unmolested. Just don't chop the top or any dumb stuff like that, LOL!!
Enjoy!

Nice car. Take a body hammer and bang that dent out of the rear fender. I'll bet it pops real easy like. _________________ Jason

To Motomazzo,
I just read your 66 build thread and said to myself I'm sure glad i live in Socal. I guess were really spoiled and lucky to live out here where the cars (if you can still find them) are so dry and rust free. You have a lot of talent, i would never try anything that daring. Keep up the good work. _________________ 1966 Slammed Vert Gone

Here's the latest....
It looks a lot different now. I decided to lower it some (Cal-Style) narrow the front beam 2 inches. remove the bumpers install Black powder coated fast fab T-bars, Found a speedwell s/wheel and installed a Hurst shifter. Next is exhaust and eventually a bigger motor and some minor paint work. _________________ 1966 Slammed Vert Gone

Thanks for the reply, very nice car! I want to get one like this with bumpers and then slap a nice trans/engine combo to make it really dangerous! _________________ Brenner Racing

Maybe, but it's fun and it takes 5 minutes to change back to the boring Quiet pack. It's the most fun i've ever had for $5 bucks... _________________ 1966 Slammed Vert Gone
