The next big "meet" is Buses By The Bridge (Jan. 16-19) at Lake Havasu. Many AZ folks will be there. Very Happy

There's a bunch of us here in Phoenix (and most lay low on the forum) but, oddly, the Phoenix crowd doesn't do the monthly get-together thing that the PNW and SoCal folks do regularly... perhaps it's simply because no one has yet to take initiative to schedule a meet-up.

AZ bus club based out of PHX meets monthly and is always doing something from cruises to work party's to camping. look into them, fun fun group. I think they are super active, just not too sure how many members check out the vanagon sections on the forum. It's a club for everyone, every vw.

Hello, Tucsonians.

I am currently here and am in need of an expandable push rod tube and inner seal for my 2.1.

Chrico says they don't have anything.
Dealership can get one, but 5-6 days out Sad

I don't have one but I often get routine parts from a BAP/Geon store. If they don't have it they can possibly get it pretty quickly. I use the one on 22nd but looks like there is one over on the west side (Prince), possibly nearer you:

Aaargh! I called BAP (lots of import parts) and Merles (regional chain) and neither could help.

I also called the one shop I have used (owner drives a Vanagon) but they are closed Saturdays.

Part number appears to be 025 109 337 if that is of any use.

Would a roll of Super Tape help?

Bumping this because I just picked up my Synchro and drove it home to Tucson.

Anyone interested in helping with a project?

Hello all Tucson members of thesamba.

My name is Mike and own a 79 Westy. I'd like to meet some of the Vanagon owners I see cruising around town in person.

Update this thread or PM me if there is gonna be a meet up somewhere.

I'm leaving on a Utah roadtrip on Wednesday but after I return I'd be willing to attend a meet-up.

Possibly morning coffee somewhere central?

My 'other' (weekly) car & coffee meet-up is at the Starbucks at Grant & Swan -- mainly because they have quite a bit of outdoor seating and if you sit outside they don't mind you tying up tables for an extended chat.

Awesome!

Let's put something together.

Any advice on doing emissions on a new import that never had a Cat?

I have the Audi 5 cylinder engine (for now).

Another (new) Tucson member here, but not with a Westy.

I can't say that I see a lot of Vanagons on the road around here...

Will be attending the Chirco Bugtoberfest this weekend. Plan to do some selling on Sunday morning. Maybe even camp the night before so I don't have to get up early, drive and find a spot.

The bus is beige '79 Westfalia with a unique license plate frame.

Come by and have a cup of coffee. Would be nice to meet some samba Vanagon owners.

Mike.
