decided to order the shurflo (I think) faucet from Gowesty. got an email from them that the part might not work. I assume that because it is sold as a eurovan camper faucet, it came up as not for my year westfalia (84)

I've looked, and it seems to be the shurflo faucet that so many on the samba have installed in their westys.

could it be different from the 'other' shurflo faucets?

I did Shurflo mod. The model # is 94-009-10. I drove down to a Marine West store and got both pieces of what madspaniard did in this thread.
The Antenna Deck Mount is just a plastic adapter plate. You could just make one.
One thing is that using the Shurflo you will loose your city water hook up.
The Delta Six is the way to go if you want city water hook up.

Cripes... GW emailed me a "warning" as well that there was a conflict and I emailed them back with the following:
a) a link to TheSamba thread about the Shurflo being installed in Vanagons;
b) a link to the antenna base required;
c) a followup message with the attached photo and told them that they ought to get the antenna bases and sell them and the faucets as a package for Vanagon owners:

GW is selling the OEM Delta6 faucet, so that'd be a conflict of interest... I presume.

But... after my email (and maybe others'?), you'd think they would've taken that automated "part conflict" message out of their system. Rolling Eyes

thanks, I will go ahead with the order. so no wiring differences? I'm easily confused by wiring diagrams. I don't use the city (pressure) hookup, so no problem there. I just wanted to make sure it was the same faucet folks were using in the previous threads about the shurflo. I don't think go westy sells the delta 6 though. I'd debated back and forth about the two.

The Shurflo has 2 wires, comes in bright white most commonly but a light grey with black trim is around too. The grey looks better in a grey interior Westy. Not sure which GoWesty is selling but their photo looks like the bright white one. There are some other odd color scheme versions.

It is a common part carried by boat stores and some RV places. You can save some money if you look around online.

If you're referring to the Shurflo, yes. And it works like a dream. Cool

GW sells only the white version; looks just dandy with the gray interior, IMHO. Wink And, yes, no wiring differences.

Not to take business away from GW, but the Shurflo (no matter the color) can indeed be found cheaper elsewhere. The only reason I bought it at GW is I was pressed for time and knew GW would get the faucet to me before leaving on a trip (as opposed to my local West Marine that didn't have it in stock and wanted to charge me an extra $25 to get it to their store before their usual Thursday deliveries).

my complaint with the Delta 6 stock faucet is flow. It is too fast with no control. Does the Shurflo regulate the water flow better?

No comparison... one has no control, the other has glorious control. If you don't mind the lack of city water, it's worth swapping. Cool I thought I'd be lost without city water, but after installing the Shurflo I haven't looked back. I'm now looking to remove the connection as a whole and do the popular exhaust fan mod with the hook-up.

When comparing the two, shurflo makes the delta 6 faucet look silly and outdated. It makes the sink useful again.

What I like about my Shurflo mod is the same thing I like as my Vitrifrigo fridge mod: I TURN IT ON AND IT WORKS! AMAZING!

I am so happy! pump and faucet work!! a lot of the wires to my pump were cut and gone, and I'd never had an electric faucet that worked. I spoke to go westy on friday so I had a basic idea of the 'circut'.

it didn't work at first, so relieved to find a wire had pulled loose. the flow control is amazing, and the way it swivels....

I LOVE IT!! thanks all!

Laughing it makes me more happy to know people on The Samba found my idea useful for their Westys! I have taken many ideas from others here so giving something back just feels good

Indeed... and you know, I applaud GW for stepping up to the plate, but IMHO, the modified antenna base looks better, like it's all one unit. So, I thank you for discovering that little gem. Cool

SS on SS I think it might leak. Hope you don't have young kids. Smile

I like the plastic base one better.

I like the idea of the gray faucet to match my cabinets. There was not much to offer
in the way of places to purchase one. I did a google search and Amazon looked like a good
place but they are out of stock. I did find one here at this site and ordered it.
I'll probabaly order one of the GW base unit and apply a piece of rubber to the bottom
of the SS to act as a gasket to keep H2O out of the cabinet.

Thanks Enrique for your brainstorming!

Hey Shurflo fans,

I used two "door knob guards" from Home Desperate as the base. They are round, white and stiff enough plastic to do the job of holding the faucet in place in the hole in the stainless sink top, which is larger than the base of the Shurflo. You need a way to fill the hole in the sink top and the door guards work really well and are easy to drill out.

My faucet:
