I'm spending it on a new crutch for Tiny Tim and perhaps a Christmas Goose with all the trimmings for the little tikes Dinner. So I guess I will spend it all in two places...

No. You paid a total of 5¢ in final value fees to eBay. They refunded you 1¢ of that. eBay kept the 4¢. You are the winner because you got 20% of what you paid back.

holy crap, I just looked at my letter, I made $50.09 of which I was refunded $3.35, I've always told the story that I stopped selling stuff on ebay bc I had put about ten items all in the $50 to $100 range and only one sold for $50, by the time i was done with shipping, paypal's and ebay's cut including their cut for items that did not sell, I pocketed a grand total of about $10, it bothered me so much that that was the last time I sold anything there. after my refund that sale suddenly became $53.44, for a grand toatal of about $13.44

Ebay and Paypal amount to approximately 13% of the sale price of the item. I figure it's a cost of doing business and just deal with it.
Manny, you're blaming Ebay for what you didn't sell. You can't rationally do that, since you must have had too high a price on those items to begin with. Everything has a price, and Ebay proves it.

Man I was wondering about that check, I got a whopping 3.21. Good grief I wonder how many people got money back and how much it cost Ebay in total.

To say that my price was too high to begin with is a little off base considering you don't know what I was selling, I personally wouldn't use ebay to price anything, it's a very unreliable method, but that's just my opinion.
Anyway, how much was your settlement check for so we can keep on topic.

I already said. I'm on page 2. I got 3 cents.
I just wonder who will get all the money that doesn't get recovered, what with these cheap checks.
My reference to your prices being too high is due to the fact that you didn't sell. If the price is good, it'll sell. Now, there's the caveat that the item itself has to be worth the price and desireable by others, but generally, if priced appropriately, it'll sell. I also sold some items that should have gone for more, but I don't list items to keep them, but to get rid of them.

I hear what you saying, and I agree with you 100%, in this particular case I had a few nice accessories, priced below market value to attract some action, it ended up backfiring on me, that was'nt the first time it happened either, but in previous ocassions I wasn't as bothered. I guess I was lucky only one sold below market value when I look back. That was the end of my relation with our friends from ebay.

The asking price can have something to with an item not selling but not always. Over the past month or so I 've sold about 50 LP's- many sold the second time I listed them at the same price.
