|
|
71 Westy in the impound yard has this layout:
(sorry, no better pics)
Solid glass on one side:
Tall cabinet & Sink:
Seat on the wall:
Full size bed:
I've never seen this lay out in a westfalia camper, and I cannot get photos of the M Code plate at this time.
Ideas? What would its designation be? (S0-??) _________________ MAKE FORUMS GREAT AGAIN

Isn't that a not-often-in-america German Westy camper layout? _________________ 1970 Westfalia Pop-Top |

It is indeed a not-often-in-America German Westy interior, but not a DIY job.
My bus originally came from a dealership in Madrid, and I have that interior as well.
Rare stateside for sure.
I also had that same pane of glass on the driver side middle window, but replaced it with a 2nd jalousie. _________________ BUS FOR SALE

Thank you.
It's really too bad a PO put those holes in a rare cabinet layout, so I had to put them to use. _________________ BUS FOR SALE

Did you happen to flip down that big door on the front closet to see if there was a stove Kirk?
It's either a Madrid or a Houston. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Looks to be a "Houston" with a full width bench and lack of cabinet behind the slider.'
Mine is a SO 72/6, but has the cabinet next to the bench. Appears to be a match with "Madrid" _________________ BUS FOR SALE

Either an SO-72/3 "Helsinki" or SO-72/4 was the us spec called "Houston":
though this guy (username: SO72/4) says his 72/4 was a german market vehicle...

Thats a neat resource Busdaddy,
Its not a Madrid though, b/c it has the full width bed.
After searching that website, it is either a Houston or Helsinki, depending on if the tall cabinet has the stove or not. _________________ Champagne Edition Roadtrip monster "Juakali"

I do not think that cabinet contains a stove. I think its just shelves, but I can't remember for sure. Honestly, I kinda like it, but I like oddities.
If the weather clears Ill pull the junk out. And take more pics if you are interested in it. Hes not flawless, but hes mostly rust free.

You're in the right place. Though I have to say I'm really disappointed that you didn't start the thread with a hilariously well written story of how you acquired it . _________________ '71 Westfalia |
