A few more things are getting done on the Ghia. Have redone the convertible top frame and mounted it to the car ready for top installation. Also we shoe horned the engine in and started her for the first time. I drove her forward and back about five feet. I pushed her outside into the sunlight for a few pictures that will be sent to the Barrington Concours d'Elegance for entry consideration. The Barrington Concours d'Elegance is an annual car exhibition July 12–14 In Barrington IL. It would very exciting if they choose our car for display.

Great unified look to your dash with the late Beetle speedo and matching Porsche 914 tach!

How does the exhaust system sound, even when you only "drove" 5'?

The exhaust has a very low rumble at idle. I cant wait to get her out on the road to really hear what its going to sound like at speed. Have to wait till spring and all the snow clears.

Going down memory lane here and was wondering if you ever got any video of it running? Do you still own it?

Always wondered how that engine and transmission ran.

Looks like it turned out beautiful Cool

Nicholas, not much and hope things are good with you.

Had completely forgotten about this thread. After re-reading it wanted to see if Henry had any further updates since completing the '66.
Thanks for the shout out.....
