Hey guys. I installed a new fuel sender about 2 months ago and it has worked great ever since, until today. I filled the tank up full today and later I noticed no needle in the gauge. When I turned the bus off no needle fell down so I don't think it was just past the full mark. Any idea what might have happened? Any thoughts are appreciated. _________________ air-cooled or nothing for me

Bad sender or gauge. it's very possible that your new sender shit the bed. I don't think the new ones are very good quality. _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

before you do anything momentially ground the wire going to the sender and see if the gauge still works as it could be the gauge and not sender. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

Excellent advice, and even before that tell us what year your bus is, many models don't require any access holes. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

OK, so the sender can come out without butchery if need be.
Ground the wire first and see if the gauge pegs, also test for power on both terminals of the vibrator/regulator (small box on back of gauge unit) while the key is on. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

And you don't have to cut a hole or pull the engine. You just need long arms after you get the firewall out or a small body. _________________ Why Yes it is a Magic bus!
