Hey everyone
So here is my issue. I've searched around and tried to read the manual.
My drivers side orange light front marker, side small red marker, and tail light all do not work when the lights are on. They work when I have the blinker on. Passenger side of the van works fine.
I have checked all the connections and they are good. Bulbs are all good. I think it might be a fuse they are all on? Does anyone know which fuses to check?
I'm stumped....
Thanks _________________ ________________________

It's a fuse. Pull the cover and find the blown fuse. Change with a new one. Done! _________________ 2015 VW GTi Autobahn

Which fuse is it? Is there a number on it? _________________ ________________________

Check the fuses first, but it could also be a ground problem. What voltage do you see at the hot side of the bulbs? What voltage do you see on the ground side of the bulbs? |

i think it might be a ground issue.
i did find that the fuse was toast, so i replaced it, and the rear side and tail light both now work. the front orange mark still doesnt light up....
half way there.
so if its a ground, where do i go to find the issue? _________________ ________________________

If you have 12v showing on the base of the bulb, then make sure the base of the bulb is shiny clean as is the socket it fits in. You need good electrical continuity here, whitish corrosion doesn't cut it. I use dielectric grease on the base of the bulb and in the socket when I reinstall the bulb to lessen future corrosion.
If you have 12v showing on the socket itself then you need to trace the brown ground wire to wherever it grounds to the body and clean that connection up and get it into first class condition. |
