lol. The pan will have no halves, the tunnel shorten six inches, narrowed six inches in the rear, raised torsion housing three inches (trans raised one). Front beam narrowed six inches as well (two inch dropped spindles). It's not a kit car nor will it be used for a bug body. You'll have to keep coming back to check my progress!
Torsion tube sleaved
Welded
Three inches on each side
My jig table! (its used to remove a Touareg or Phaeton engine and trans)
Put togeather to weld
Welded
First of two gussest (this one on the bottom)
Keep coming back to see (and guess) more.

lol, I like that guess!! But no it's a car. It's not the first one done just my spin on the idea. It will be a driver.
Some parts to clean.
Painted drums
Front stuff done (six inches), and some rear stuff too.
Parts under my desk at work
I'm trying to keep it cheap, as many swap meet parts I can get my hands on!

I made a little progress this weekend.
The six inches I cut out of the tunnel.
The raise plate (1/4 steel)
Plate welded with gussets to the housing
Another view of the bottom gusset
Now I have to square it up and weld it on
Got the rear brakes done (no e-brake for now)
Should have it welded this week. Trans is being built now, when I get it back I can get the chassis rolling and fitted to the body!

That was my next guess but then I noticed he said "it will be a driver" and I ruled it out as thats a racer. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"

Great work!
Should be strong but no gussets up top?

In this photo its only butted up to the tunnel (not squared yet) so when its done it will have the same gussets on the top as it does on the bottom!!
And not a Vee.

More progress pics.
I straped it down on the table and used more straps to keep it square.
Bolted the front beam on so I could square it up to the front suspension.
Welded up
Top gussets
Side views
When I get the trans back I'll get the pan rolling, bring the car to work and remove the front and rear suspension and start fitting the pan. I have it all done in my head but I'll have to see how it goes when I have the car.
