Hello ....Just curious when you took the six inches out of the tunnel why you choose to cut it out between the brake lever and shifter....
Thanks todd |

Fantastic build. Just bought a Dauphine with an VW engine and I'm planning to convert the front end as you have. What would be the correct width of the beam to fit the Renault?
Great Job!

I know this topic has been dead for a while but I just wanted to say it inspired me to do a similar conversion. Figured I'd post a pic of mine. Its not done yet but I just got it into a roller. Down to just some sheet metal work on the interior.

Here's another pic
Here is the engine bay... Had to redo the frame rails to make the tranny work
I used a Beetle firewall on the inside
I built a set of my three piece smoothies for the car
Then I made a set of Golden Lady hub caps for the wheels. I didn't want a VW emblem cap or a baby moon cap so this was my solution to that problem.
I'll post more as I progress... Don't mean to hijack this thread... Just seemed the best place to post... Hopefully jdoisher will start his up again!!! |

X2. Nicely done. Classic and modern at the same time. _________________ and take the kids for instance "Are we going in the Volkswagen bus?" and they say "Yay!" and clap their hands and if it's a glorious day you can slide the sunroof back and let a little of the glory in and all of a sudden, it stops looking funny.

Nice work here! Looks great.
For any of you out there who have never seen one of these cars n person, it is hard to truly appreciate how tiny that interior really is. Details make all the difference, and this one looks damn nice. _________________ nothing |
