it's been a while since i've mounted any hursts so i can't remember exactly what is what but i know there are some reinforrcing plates that go on the inside of the body panels as well as on the inside of the pressed bumpers. here are some pics:

this is original hardware and i think the square pieces with the round holes are for the inside of the body panels for mounting the long tubes

Thanks to everyone, this clears up all my questions. Seems like I wasn't the only one wondering. I have to start shopping the repos for a set, as I don't have the cash for originals
