ad from 1980 VW olympic hockey team.

was a big deal here in as well as everywhere for the Miracle on Ice.
and I'm not at all that keen on hockey
but a big move for the 1980 publicity on the new model.

You bet! A buddy at work passed it to me. I love the end where all of the mechanics light cigarettes after the car drives off. Yes, cigarettes are bad, but what a perfect early '80's way to celebrate a five-minute Quattro trans swap. _________________ Joe T.

Yes, that's a familiar ritual for me - as my father would do the same after a late slog before a race - or after coming back into the paddock after a race.
I, naturally, followed suit though I finally gave up smoking at 47. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

A bit cheesy and they could have skipped the Metris part, but a Vanagon video nonetheless:

Because Vanagon.
Skip to 10:15, unless you wanna see some cool stuff.
We finished 3rd in class behind 2 V8 cars, and we were only 2 laps behind them.

Thanks to all our sponsors!
We'll be in Shelton Wa July 27-28 for our next attempt at a win. 18 time losers!
I have to say, 18+ races in this Van is pretty crazy. A normal race for us is about 14-16 hours per weekend. Our last race at Thunderhill 5 mile course, we managed to do 200 laps, that's 1000 miles!!! Hard miles mind you. _________________ Vanagon/Transporter flares here: www.terrawagen.com

I’ll add my YouTube videos of my latest Westfalia travels. The first one is from Easter weekend and the second was Father’s Day. I'm just getting started in making videos of my travels and this is my second and third video so far.
