Hello,

I’m just about to place the body of my ‘62 Ghia coupe back on the floor pan (after eight long years…). Only now I realized that there is an odd hole on both rear corners of the floor pan.

On the body side there is also a matching (about 15 mm) hole.

I just can’t figure out if this is an actual body mounting point or something that factory has used during manufacturing only?

Here the body is just lifted off the pan and it looks like there is some kind of plug. I just cant’t remember anymore if it was just a plug or body bumper.

the hole in the top picture has no function that I know of.
it is always plugged with an oval grommet. the 'good' version of this grommet comes from the thing shop.

Yes, Ian 's got it right,I checked on mine and the oval grommets are there, but the holes are indeed useless I guess.

Thank you Ian and Elfried!

I dug into my archives, found the original plugs and managed to revitalize them with silicon treatment.

Rule number one: Do not hesitate to ask help from TheSamba fellows.
Rule number two: Never scrap or sell your original Ghia parts.
