I think I have read this thread 10 times, and learn something new every time, while a build like this is far above my skill level, I sure enjoy reading this...very nicely done...Im jealous |

Finally got all the way through this thread. Nice work! I can't wait to see what you do with a 9 bay garage if you did this with a Vanagon. Good stuff. I'm sure you won't be posting too many pics of it for the world to see but it'll be amazing I bet! _________________ 86 Vanagon Westfalia 87k

Thanks for the replies. Well the garage is down. That took a long time to clean out all my junk. Here's a pic with the frame still up. My neighbor brought home his backhoe tonight so the cement pad is coming out tomorrow
and the foundation is getting dug. Nice to have a neighbor with big toys.
Had to move the 'Cuda to a storage shed. Just get it finished, drive it to the storage shed and now it sits...again.
And just for fun during Dec and Jan I built this. Bought the frame and a whole lot of parts, 120cc Lifan, and made it happen.

Simply amazing! It always amazes me the amount of skill and knowledge that some people have. Thanks for sharing. Incredible build and incredible thread. Well done on both accounts. |

What shifter did you use for this? Picking up a 4.8 and the trans this weekend. I found a great deal on a 4.8 so decided to go that route instead of the 5.3. _________________ "I will dream what no one else is dreaming, and will build what no one else is building" DaVinci I believe

Well it's finally done. Still have to deal with the yard. Took us awhile. but
when you do 95% of the work yourself, I don't think we did too bad
for just 2 people.
Garage is all radiant heat with epoxy floors.
4300 lbs of metal roofing and a 2000 lb trailer. Pulled it no problems.
Have 30,000 miles on the conversion now.
Put some new stainless steel headers on it a few weeks ago.
And I spent 6 hours putting a 2005 Prius electric power steering unit in it.
So nice. One finger steering. Total cost...$45. Can't beat that.
And if you hadn't noticed I paid the price at PB so you can see all my photo's.
Enjoy. |

I appreciate the coughing-up for PB's extortion BUT:
Photobucket still sucks - click anywhere to the right of one of the images and instead of your focus being on that point (useful for scrolling control) it then opens a new screen and opens the bloody photo! For some reason PB images commandeer the whole horizontal screen space they are in.
I despise their business model, and I despise their reluctance to address their inadequacies.

Too many pictures there already and I don't have the time to mess with it.
They dropped the price so I took it. Have never been a fan of thesambas
layout for photo's. That's why.
Drove over to Spokane, WA and picked up this new toy. Went over the Snoqualmie Pass (3000') at a comfortable 75 mph and never shifted out of 4th once.

gorgeous house and garage. i went with white walls and ceiling with high density of 5k high CRI lighting and i love it. _________________ -dan
